Friday Follies

Survived the dentist visit. No issues so it was just putting up with the scraping.

Because of that, our lesson moved from Wednesday to today. We ran through all the dances we are doing tomorrow (Waltz, Tango, Fox Trot, Viennese Waltz, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo, Hustle, West Coast Swing and Country Two Step). We did them in rounds so it was one right after the other. It was a sign that the calf is totally healed because I got through it with no issues.

Now we are only doing one heat of each dance tomorrow so this isn’t like a Showcase. Just a way of getting some practice in a similar environment and to get some feedback. But it is always fun to get a chance to get out on the floor and do all the dances.

We’ve lost the war to keep Tigger off our bed during the day. Actually, my wife surrendered unconditionally and just said it was fine if he slept there. So, for the last two days, he’s spent the entire afternoon on our bed. His favorite spot appears to be just below my pillow. Just another reason why we don’t let him sleep with us at night because I don’t want to be breathing cat all night.

Speaking of the cat, we found a new way to keep him entertained for a bit. Gave him a paper bag the other day and it turned into the best toy. He even ended up just sitting in it for quite some time. Well I decided to put all his toys in the bag and it drove him crazy trying to get them all out. Something about the toys being in the bag was unacceptable to him.

And we turned the page on the calendar yesterday so one month of 2024 is in the books. Not really sorry to see January go. We can now notice it staying lighter later in the day and that’s a good thing even though we haven’t had a lot of sun lately. Almost went to the studio party last night but decided to skip because we have the event tomorrow. But it no longer feels as dark and foreboding at night so I’m going to start venturing out at nights again.

That’s all I’ve got for now.
