Is a Cold Coming??

I don’t know for sure yet. It could just be allergies acting up although it is strange because we are through the worst of the tree pollen season and the overall levels aren’t super high. Kind of surprised there is any grass pollen in the air given that we’ve had almost no rain and the grass is slowly turning brown in many places.

So the kind of scratchy throat could be the beginning of a summer cold or the result of drainage from the allergies. I do have kind of that allergy head fog thing going on but I guess we’ll know for sure in a couple of days. If it is a cold, it will get worse. If it is just allergies, it will likely just stay at this annoying level.

I did my workout this morning and had a dance lesson and felt fine after both. Actually felt a little better but that’s probably not a good guide.

Did find one clear advantage to going to the studio early in the afternoon. Today, was a hot, summer day. It wasn’t supposed to be this hot but weather forecasts are usually just best guesses and can easily be wrong. But the studio was actually comfortable at this time. I imagine it won’t be pleasant tonight after having the whole day to heat up.

We have a song for our Argentine Tango. I’d tell you what it is but it is an instrumental and I never got the name. There were multiple versions but, after listening to them, we decided on one that mixes violin and piano. Has lots of slow and fast parts which gives you the ability to play with the music.

Ended up getting a good start on it as well. I played no part in this because choreography isn’t my thing. Fortunately, for, me, PJ knows her stuff. I do enjoy watching it come together – with her listening to the music and then imagining a step that might fit to it and then actually counting it out to make sure it fits and hits the appropriate parts in the music.

We had to do it in front of several of the other instructors at the end of the lesson because we needed someone to video. Well, I didn’t but PJ didn’t want to forget all the stuff she had come up with. For a very rough cut, it was pretty well received so I think there is a lot of potential there.

Have two lessons tomorrow so I’m hoping (a) this isn’t a cold and (b) the temperatures drop like they are supposed to.

  1. Dont know where you are but here in so IL we are still dealing with the crap in the air from the forests burning in Canada. Its been aweful.

    1. Had my allergy shot today and the nurse brought that up. Certainly could be a factor as we’ve had several “bad air quality” days lately
