Disturbance in the Force

We’ve had some painting/drywall repairs things that needed to get done but we kind of put them on the back burner for a bit. Finally got in contact with a guy who’s done previous stuff for us and got on the schedule. They started today bright and early at 8:30 AM.

If all goes well, the work should take less than two weeks. Now, this crew is really professional and most of the work is being done on out of the way rooms so, other than the noise from the repairs, there were times when you didn’t know stuff was going on. Well except for the drop cloths and tarps put up to protect carpet and things in the rooms where they were working.

Still, there is something a bit off about having people coming in and out of your house. Just a localized disturbance in the space time continuum.

The cat had some moments as well. One of the rooms being worked on is near the room where we have his litter set up. He’s a good cat but he’s not always the smartest in terms of finding the litter box. This is why we shut him away at night with access to the box. I found him wandering in the unfinished part of the basement because the door was open and he loves to explore. Picked him up, took him around the tools that were laid out in the room and put him the box. At that point, a light came on and he decided he needed to go after all.

In that same room, they hung plastic sheeting to separate the parts needed repair/paint and the other parts. Only problem is that his sleeping place is in the part behind the sheeting. So, naturally, he found a way through the sheeting. Showed up a bit later when it was food time.

Not really sure what we’re going to do with him tonight. May just leave him out to roam the house and see what happens.

Was a bit worried about him sneaking by people to get outside but the guys were good at closing the doors quickly and he wasn’t feeling bold enough to really follow them.

Anyway, it will be nice when it is done but kind of a pain until it is.
