It turned into a sort of busy week and I couldn’t really come up with anything to write about.
We did get a lesson with one of the judges from Showcase. He finished the choreography to our Peabody routine which is planned for the next Showcase in November. Lots of work to be done to have it ready by then but I can manage it.
Didn’t get the full set of critiques but we did get feedback on our two routines. Different judges use different grading scales so it is hard to compare across Showcases but my scores were really good. Got higher marks for the Viennese Waltz which was a bit of a surprise. Got a perfect score for Showmanship on that one. But the marks reflected how I thought they went – very solid performances.
I think I mentioned we’ve started bringing the cat into the garage at night. I’m still working on getting him in the house but there is some resistance due to allergies. We let him roam outside during the day and he seems fine with that. We do both go out to spend time with him during the day so he isn’t totally isolated. For now, that works but when we finally get into really colder weather, we’ll need a new plan.
I did see him stalking the chipmunks and rushing through the bushes but he came away empty pawed. Did stir up the chipmunks quite a bit because they were making quite a bit of noise. They’ll go away for the winter soon enough taking away a source of entertainment for the cat.
We did have some cold mornings but no frost or freeze yet. Yesterday, we got back to fall/summer weather and I actually ended up having to switch from heat to AC. It didn’t really get that hot inside but it was slightly above the temperature with use for the AC so the goal was just to get back to that level before we went to bed.
And now the weekend is here. After last weekend, it will be nice to take it easy and not have much to do.
