Some days are made for being active. Some days are made for simple pleasures like working on a puzzle and listening to the rain. That was yesterday. I was not very active and so my Fitbit wants more out of me today. Well maybe not more but it did say today was perfect “for going all out”.
One of the features in the premium plan I’m trying out is a Wellness report which isn’t as fancy as it sounds. Basically, it shows summaries of rest heart rate, activity and sleep with a few graphs showing the long term trends.
What is interesting is that since I got this new model and turned on the activity reminders, my average step count has gone up by about 30 percent. The average is still below my goal but it is much closer. Guess there are advantages to having something buzz you at ten minutes before the hour to remind you to get up and move.
Probably also helps that I seek validation even from an electronic device that can’t really provide it. Still, when it shows me the completed circle, it feels like I’ve actually done something. And if I hit the goal every hour, it really feels like an accomplishment. Yeah, I’ll be ready when the machines take over.
Today is still cold for June. Was out walking a bit ago and it really felt like a fall day. Almost wanted to go watch some football because that seems more appropriate to the day than baseball. The flowers we planted on Saturday did love the rain as they’ve all perked up quite a bit.
Now I’m going to go out and walk up and down the driveway a few times so I can get ahead of the Fitbit.
