I have never been a thin person and I was always self conscious about it and it became even more of an issue as I’d watch videos of me dancing with my instructor. That plus a minor health scare was enough to convince me to finally do something about it. Last year, through a combination of diet and exercise, I lost 120 pounds and have kept it off for 6 months. I don’t regret much in life but I do regret not doing this sooner. Not only do I feel better but it has changed my outlook because I am just a happier person. It was interesting going through the process because many people wanted to know the secret and were disappointed when I had no magic solution – just eat less and exercise more. It has become a new life style as I hit the gym at work as often as possible and still count calories. That’s why I didn’t try a weird diet because I knew I needed something I could live with for the rest of my life. I’ve basically cut out fast food and lunch meetings which I believe are seriously evil. For anyone who is struggling, it is hard work but it is so worth it.
